Woman, 32 y.o.
Fine needle aspiration of a little (0.8 cc) medullary
carcinoma in the apex of the right lobe.
The needle is inserted inside the nodule;
a little pause is right to slip the mandrin off.
During the forward, backwards and twisting movements, the needle's point is
always inside the nodule.
Calcitonin = 202 pg/ml (n.v. < 10 pg).
FNA: medullary carcinoma.
Calcitonin in the needle washing > 20.000 pg.
