nodular goiter).
Subclinical hyperthyroidism.
After median sternotomy, removal of a large ectopic
mediastinal goiter.
Chest x-ray: large (9 cm) left paramedian nodule in the anterior mediastinum.
Scintiscanning: no captation on the neck, but strong left paramedian thoracic captation.
