MEDULLARY CARCINOMA
in men 2 a

Woman, 38 anni.

Familial Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia, type 2A.
Large nodule in the right lobe (mm 22 x 23 x 30; 8 cc),
hypoechoic, with irregular borders, also if with peripheric halo. Small similar nodule in the left lobe (mm 11 x 10 x 17; 1 cc).

Rich peripheric and internal vascularization.

Serum calcitonin: 478 pg/ml (n. v. <10).
Serum CEA:
373 ng (n. v. <8).

FNAB of both nodules: medullary carcinoma.

Histological examination: bilateral medullary carcinoma.
